Hola!

We're 12 days away from our trek with you guys and just have a couple of questions.

We requested porters for the trek - are the bags sheltered at all in a vehicle or are they simply carried? We're wondering if we should go out and buy waterproof protectors for our packs in case we get rain?

Also, what would you expect the minimum and maximum temperatures to be during the trek?

Thank you! Graicas!

Grum

Hello Grum,

Thank you for your email. To answer your questions:

1) We requested porters for the trek - are the bags sheltered at all in a vehicle or are they simply carried? We're wondering if we should go out and buy waterproof protectors for our packs in case we get rain? You will get rain, it is the rainy season. Yes, you will need waterproof protectors. Bags are simply carried.

2) Also, what would you expect the minimum and maximum temperatures to be during the trek? It is always cold in the Andes at night and when not in the sun. During the day, it gets quite warm too. Minimum 5°C, maximum 26°C. For an estimate and the current weather in the area, please check our page: http://www.inca-trail.com.pe/trek/weather.php?lg=en

Best regards,

Hello Grum,

In Cusco there are plenty of stores where you can find waterproofs. The city is prepared for hiking, no problem with that.

As for porters, they can carry up to 15 kilos each, regardless the number of pieces (sleeping bag, mattress, backpack).

Best wishes,
